I may be going at this from the completely wrong direction, but isn't #1 in the hw the same as one of the examples in that big packet? Let me know if I need to go back and look at it again.

Hi - Regarding decimal points, use the "three place" rule: 321; 32.1; 3.21; 0.321...
also, remember to put the zero in front of values less than 1.
